The Great Garage To Play Room Conversion!!!

About a week and a half ago I decided to finally do a project I have wanted to do for several years. It was finally time to convert the garage into a play room for the girls!!! I was so excited and a little terrified to get started. First step was to clean out the garage.

Whew! Got that done!! :o)

Next step was to paint. Hmmmm... how about bright red??? YES, PLEASE!

First coat....

2nd coat.....

NEXT STEP! Time to clean a garage floor that is 20yrs old. That apparently takes some heavy duty cleaning. This part REALLY made me nervous. OK! Here goes... time for the hazmat gear.
(Is that how you spell that??)

NEXT! Time to stain the garage floor. Primer then first coat....

2nd coat of stain! CHECK!

IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!!!!!!! Time to get the room set up!!

Cost- About $400 for paint, stain and box fans to pump in the A/C from the house. Also required a lot of elbow grease and involved massive amounts of soreness. END RESULT! NO TOYS IN MY HOUSE=TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!! OH HAPPY DAY!!!
TA DA!!!! WE LOVE IT!!!!!!! WELCOME TO OUR NEW PLAY ROOM!!!
HUGS! Angel

love you sharing snippets of your life with us!! what a great project! Don't you love what you can do with some determination, elbow grease, and thinking outside the box. No toys in your house?? Wow. Now, really?????? That definitely inspires me!! AND, you inspire me to post on our playroom cleanup of Memorial Day... maybe soon!
maybe i will move every toy down to that playroom.....

Do the fans really keep it cool enough? I only ask b/c our heat pump has gone out again (went out last summer too) and we have every fan available running and it is still nearly 90 inside.
UGH!! We are SO spoiled!

What an inspiration! I live in the UK and planning regs don't allow a professional garage conversion so whay not do this?! Question; our summers are no where near as hot as in Tx so we have no need for A/C but our looooong winters probably are colder....how do you keep it warm for the girls when teh temperature drops?!
