Rainforest Cafe

Since it was our last day of vacation we decided to have a special treat and go to the Rainforest Cafe!

My sweet baby girls
My sweet man!
He's my sweet mountain man right now! Can't ever get him to shave on vacation. ;0)

My little monkeys posing with the gorillas!
My precious little scaredy cat gets just a LITTLE nervous when the "thunder" and "lightening" get started.

We got a special dessert and surprised the girls... the first thing with gluten we have ordered in about a year and a half. Well, at least on purpose. How could we pass this up though? We figured just once wouldn't hurt. :0)
Kaitlyn VERY excited about this neato dessert!
Kaiya OBVIOUSLY enjoyed her dessert!!!

Please Help Abby!

Does everyone follow the Riggs family blog? If you are not familiar with this amazing family.... check out their blog. They are a diverse family and full of love. They have 4 biological children, 2 children from Guatemala, and a beautiful daughter from Ethiopia. One of their Guatemalan children, Abby, was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Bless her little heart. She is precious!

Abby has some pretty intensive chemo treatments 1-4 times per week for the next 5 MONTHS.... This means lots of time at the hospital, lots of time needing to be spent helping Abby.... a lot less time for making meals and cleaning houses, etc...

You can read more about what is going on at the Rigg's blog.

So many of us who do not live in the area have wanted to help but haven't known what we could do. WELL HERE WE GO! Some sweet friends of mine who live in the area ( Amy B and Carol B- Lauren's mom) are putting together plans for how to serve this family during this difficult time. Part of this will be providing lots of meals for them to relieve some of the stress. We want these precious parents to be able to focus on their children as much as possible. Let's help them do that!

If you are interested in sending or giving money for meals, that is welcomed. Either contact Amy to send the payment, or pay via paypal. (Directions on how to do this below) A few of these friends in OKC area are going to be making frozen meals at Supper Thyme to give to the family. (One meal to serve 7 is approximately $25) If you live local and are interested in delivering a frozen or refrigerated meal to them at the hospital, either message Amy at or leave a comment at her blog.

Directions to give via paypal: Once you are logged into your account, click Send Money. In the "To" box, type in my email address - Type in the amount, and then click services/other, and then click continue. Wah lah.

Would you also consider posting this on your blog to help us spread the word??? THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is what we are supposed to be for one another.... let's stop long enough to care. HUGS! :0) Angel

Funny moments with my girls....

Today I discovered that Kaitlyn-5 yrs old- has some knowledge of french kissing! OH GREAT!

Kaitlyn - I don't EVER want to grow up. I just want to be like 9 forever- yeah that's good.

Me- Why do you want to stay 9?

Kaitlyn- Cause I don't want to be big. I don't want to marry a BOY. They might try to KISS me or stick their tongue in my MOUTH! YUCK! That is DISGUSTING!! EWWWW!!!

Me- (I basically can't stop laughing to even talk at this point. How does she KNOW about that anyway?LOL!)

Kaitlyn- Isn't that SO YUCKY MOMMY? I am so glad that you and Daddy don't kiss THAT way. You kiss Daddy nice. RIGHT MOMMY? RIGHT? Daddy doesn't try to stick his TONGUE in your MOUTH! That is SOOOOO YUCKY! Right mommy?

Me- (Ok.... what do I say here... what does good Mommy SAY??) Well, would that make you happy?

Kaitlyn- YES! It would- cause that is SOOOOO gross. (moves onto next subject)

Me- (Whew- dodged THAT bullet!)

Doing Vocabulary with Zoe today.... Vocabulary with a new English speaker can be quite a challenge. Here's how the conversation goes....

Me- The first word is "master."

Zoe- What does it mean- master?

Me- Let's look it up together... OK... Master- The owner or keeper of an animal.

Zoe- What does it mean- owner?

Me- Well... an owner is someone who owns something. Wait, I mean they take care of something or control something.

Zoe- What does it mean- control?

Me- Well it means you are in charge.

Zoe- OHHHHHH! OK! You are in charge of the animals.

Me- YES! GOOD! It also can mean the owner of a slave.

Zoe- What does a slave mean?

Me- OK.... A slave is someone who has to work for someone when they don't want to work for them.

Zoe- OH OK!

Me- It also means someone who defeats someone else.

Zoe- What does it mean defeat?

Me- (sigh) It means to beat them- like to win at a game.

Zoe- Ahhhhhh...

Me- So now we have to use it in a sentence. What sentence do you think we should write?

Zoe- Ummmmmm..... how about this? "The master can be with the lots of animals."

Me- Hummmm.. well that's not bad. Let's try some more...

At that point we still had 7 MORE to do! AAACKKK!!! Then there is the actual writing it all out and spelling everything correctly. Vocabulary may not be our favorite part of school this year.... I KNOW it's great for her but WOW! Lots of work for mommy! More beach fun to come soon! :0) Angel

Girls Only at the Beach!

So this is the girls only portion of the vacation. Daddy had to take a few days in town to work. (Our vacation condo is very close to where we live) Tomorrow Daddy will come back for another 4 day weekend and then we will go home. We also went back into town for a few hours on Tuesday for Zoe's first day of classes. She goes to a University Model school. That means she goes to classes 2 days a week and does work at home the other days. She has class Tuesday and Thursday. So we ran her into town so she wouldn't miss the first day. Her school moved to a new building this year. It is beautiful but still being finished so everything is kinda crazy and unorganized. That's OK. It'll be worth it when it's done. While she was in class we went to lunch and then grabbed some stuff we needed at Target. FUN! Then it was back to the beach.

Zoe forgot to bring school shoes that match the uniform code to the beach so she borrowed MINE! YES! I have a child that can wear my shoes. INSANE! They were a little big but not bad. My Guatamodel is going to outgrow me any day now.

Here is messy Kaiya after eating lunch- posted just cause she is so cutie patootie!
Today we all did our nails to get all purtyfied.... did a test run on my nails the other day then we all went crazy today!
Aren't we ADORABLE???
Of course we also have our tough side. Check out our crazy tatoo frenzy!
Here are my sweet girls. Kaiya is totally getting this picture thing...
Train up a child in the way they should go... in our house this includes learning to sleep late and smile when you see a camera. LOL!!!

We also went swimming. I just love this floaty I got at Target. It helps Kaitlyn so much and puts her in a better position to practice swimming than a life vest. She is learning to swim but when I need to have some worry free time I have her put it on.
Kaiya is AMAZING! She is fearless in the water. We had this little float suit on her and she was swimming all over with no one holding her.
She LOVED IT! She could literally go all the way across the pool all by herself!! This is particularly fascinating to me because Kaitlyn would NEVER have done this at that age. She is SO CRAZY BRAVE! She cracks me up. I love that about her. :0) Angel
