Adopting Zoe

The staff at our church recorded an interview of our family recently. They showed it during the service this last Sunday. The sermon was about God adopting us into His family. It was about the way He pulls us out of our desperate state and makes our life beautiful. He chose to love us long before we loved Him. His greatest joy is watching us become everything we were meant to be. It made me cry seeing it in that way. I just wanted to share it with you.

"Because of his love he had already decided to adopt us through Jesus Christ. He freely chose to do this. Ephesians 1:5"

That is an incredible video. I have tears pouring down my face. I love the way the Lord brought hope out of such horrific devastation. Your family is so genuine, so faithful, so filled with love for each other. Thanks for being such an awesome example to me and my young family.

Also, wow! Your upcoming trips sound A-mazing!!!

Angel,
Bawling here too. What a testament. Two things really struck me. First is your comments of Faith and Trust. I've stated that one myself. There IS a difference and through this process I've learned that difference. Second, your comments about God having his hand on her brought me to tears. You have no idea how badly I needed to hear that today. Your statement gave me hope once again that God is watching over my two in Guatemala. I'm sure you had no idea that those words would touch someone, but Angel, they really brought me to my knees this morning. Bless you.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! It IS amazing how God works this very difficult process for a stronger relationship with Him- to build our trust, our faith, our total reliance on Him! The process is as much about reaching out to Hod children as it is building a relationship with Him. I love that!!! Thanks for sharing!

Neat video! Zoe will always have an amazing testimony of God's grace and provision! Our team visited some of the mudslide damaged area (Santiago) while we were in Guat. I choose to stay with Ellie, but I would love to go back and see more of the area!

Definitely a tear jerker. I followed your adoption journey and I can't tell you how many times I cried with you, with Zoe.
I look forward to following your next several adoptions too.

RE: the video-- I kept getting an echo. I got the jist of it though. Wonderful!

Betsy,

Just saw the video. You have no idea how God used you today, but your words are what I needed to hear.

My agency doesn't want to start any new cases in Guatemala and I am beside myself. I truly believe God has a reason for me to adopt from Guatemala. I'm facing the question of "do I choose another agency or do I wait until my agency is willing to start new cases?"

I am so grateful to you for posting this video. When you said that you had troubles and wondered why it happened that way, I just felt like that's what I'm facing today.

Thank you from my heart

My Dearest Angel Face,
I finally was able to watch the video just now. You and Russ both did a beautiful job of glorifying God in this testimony. Russ touches my heart deeply in his closing words. That guy sure does love you and his girls. I could see the Lord's reflection upon your face and in your voice. I'm grateful that I was able to witness not only the process but the fruit of your labor in the beautiful child of Zoe. She is a precious granddaughter...I truly love that little Morning Star.
Love
