3 year olds can be SOOOO helpful.

Zoe- My tummy hurts! I'm SCARED!!!

Me- You don't have to be scared when your tummy hurts Zoe...

KK- I'm REALLY scared when I'M sick!!!

Me- OK Kaitlyn but Zoe doesn't need to be scared. Hey Zoe! Maybe you can take a hot shower when you get home and it will help your tummy feel better.

KK- She might throw up in the shower Mom!

Very helpful. VERY helpful...

PS Zoe was fine 15 minutes later. Lest you think we have NO older child challenges.... Zoe WIGS out when she feels sick. Being sick is really dangerous in her background because there was not much medicine and no money. She actually witnessed a family member pass away with horribe stomach issues. Poor baby. It's awful. Poor mommy too. It makes little gas pains a real treat for all of us. She will literally start crying because she has a little crampiness. We just have to convince her she is going to be okay anytime she has a little pain here or there. I have to be really firm and not show too much compassion or she will TOTALLY freak cause she thinks something REALLY IS wrong. It's very odd for me. I know people are thinking, "Why isn't she more concerned?" Seriously, you don't want me to act concerned in public. She will crumble into a heap on the floor in Target and weep becasue she believes she is dying. Then I will have to physically pick her up and carry her to the van while she wails. It is MUCH better to downplay these things. Try expaining that one. Hopefully, she will get over that soon. It's already gotten better.

Grisha used to do the sick tummy thing, too. Once he cried so much about needing a doctor and going to the hospital that I caved and called a Russian translator (who happens to be a doctor) at 11PM. Turns out it was just what I had been telling him all day - too much junk food. The first time I gave him 1/4 of a chewable Pepto so he could see it as medicine. Now I know they have kids' Pepto also. Half of the recommended dose should do the shot, at least of alleviating her fear.

That's so funny. That's what I do- Children's Pepto. BUT I should probably start carrying them with me for when it happens away from the house. Angel

Angle... I love reading your blog! You are such and encouragement to me! Your heart is sooo beautiful! God has blessed many children around the world because of your live out loud personality and willingness to share your story with others.

There are many children here that need our attention too... you go sister-in-Christ!

My husband and I participate in a wonderful program through ABRO.org, it is a 6 week program via Belarus..... check it out and put the info in your memory file for the person that God needs to hear it from you. These children have ROCKED our world... okay, Jesus has rocked our world through these kids. Just like ALL kids... they just want to be loved.

I pray for the day that God opens the door for a child to live in our home full time. God does have an awesome plan, and I am resting in that!

Thanks again for your encouragement! Jane
